11 Healthy Snacks for Weight Loss

1. Popcorn

Avoid the microwave popcorn that you can buy in the local grocery store.

The amount of chemicals and sodium that is in those tiny good looking packaged is absurd and crazy.

I recommend you to make your own popcorn at home.

This is pretty easy to make and I have my portions of popcorn multiple times throughout the week.

Homemade popcorn is healthy, full of fibers and will rather stimulate and help you in your weight loss journey than hinder it.

I do it the old school way and use my big stove to heat it up and add some olive oil.

After that, I add just 1 cup of popcorn kernels into it.

This whole thing takes me up to 10 minutes to make but the stove is a bit messy to clean up afterward.

That’s why I also purchased my very own Air Popcorn Maker to avoid cleaning my own shit up afterward.

The taste is pretty much the same and I like to make my popcorn with this Air Popcorn Maker.

I rather have myself indulge and add some salt on my own popcorn rather than I unconsciously consume lots of bad fats and additives by eating microwave popcorn.

Below you can see the Orville Redenbacher Air Popcorn Maker I bought!

2. Greek Yogurt with Blueberries

Yogurt and dairy is full of good vitamins and minerals that will help in living a happy and active life but these are also full of sugar.

Sugar is one thing you certainly want to avoid when you want to lose weight fast.

That’s why I recommend having Greek yogurt.

Choose Greek yogurt with less than 9g of sugar and add some (frozen) blueberries to this.

Greek yogurt with blueberries is an excellent snack that you can have to either start your day with or have in the afternoon.

The blueberries will give you that nutrient boost full of anti-oxidants that your body really needs when you are losing weight. It is good to still your hunger and prevents you from snacking on bad snacks.

3. Hard-Boiled Eggs

Simple, easy and yet no one is having this healthy snack.

People are too embarrassed to peel an egg in the office because of the smell.

One single egg contains 6 grams of protein and when you want to burn fat it is important to build muscle.

To build muscle you need to consume lots of protein.

So this is one easy hack that you can implement right now.

Add an extra egg to your salad to mix things up.

How to do this? Bring a pot with water to boil and add your egg(s), switch to medium/low heat and let it sit for 8-10 minutes. Take the eggs out and cover with cold water.

4. Edamame

This is one dish that you often find in Japanese restaurants.

You can buy them frozen and just heat them up in hot water, add some salt and voila your snack is SERVED.

Edamame is a type of soybeans and are rich in vitamins, minerals, and protein.

Often guessed why Japanese people still look so good when they get older and older?

Or why Japanese people get so old?

The secret is in their diet.

They eat lots of vegetables and fish and of course beans.

They avoid meat as much as they can and this ensures that they get all the nutrients their body really needs.

5. Kale Chips

Kale is considered to be one of the most nutrient dense foods on this planet.

It is full of dietary fiber, vitamin C, K and a lot of good nutrients. Kale in its natural form can be eaten in a lot of ways.

The best way is just to cook it or add it to your morning smoothie/shake.

Kale is a super vegetable that I try to add to my daily diet whenever I can but sometimes I just have trouble with it sometimes.

So I was stunned when I read about the health benefits of kale chips.

Of course, most versions you can find it in the grocery store are not healthy because of all the added salt, additives etc.

So I tried to make my own version but it just took me too much efforts and then I finally found a brand that was healthy enough to add to my daily diet.

6. Pistachios

Pistachios are full of protein and fiber which is good to make you feel full very fast.

I also like the roasted flavor of pistachios a lot.

Normally I don’t recommend eating nuts when losing weight but the thing with pistachios is that you need to peel them every single time and so you spent some considerable amount of time eating a small amount and by that time you will be already satiated.

I try to avoid nuts on this list as eating lots of nuts can be destructive for your weight loss efforts.

Nuts are truly healthy but they are also full of calories.

Besides, I find that nuts are easy to overeat on.

You eat one hand of nuts and then another and you continue.

Pistachios, however, are one of my favorites and I can’t exclude them from this list.

I recommend you to keep it at one hand of pistachios though.

I would always recommend pistachios as a snack above other kinds of snacks such as chips.

7. Cherry Tomatoes

Tomatoes, in general, are full of good vitamins and minerals and in essence a nutrient bomb that is just tremendously good for your health and skin.

Tomatoes are full of vitamin A and C and even the canned type of tomatoes that you use to make spaghetti or pasta is even good for you.

Cherry tomatoes, therefore, come as a wonder from above because they are not that difficult to eat as normal tomatoes.

Cherry tomatoes can be eaten in one bite and have this sweet taste.

Have these as a snack during the day as they don’t cause you any harm at all.

8. Cucumbers

I like to binge snack on cucumbers.

This is for twofold, firstly they are low in calories and consist mostly of water and so I hydrate myself as well.

Secondly, I can’t eat more than one half of a cucumber so my snacking binge ends pretty fast.

Seriously, cucumbers are this weight loss treasure that is right under your nose when you are in the grocery store.

Best part? Cucumbers are fat-free! Have these especially when you want to lose weight.

9. Seaweed

Seaweed is another food eaten by Japanese people and it is good to improve your digestion process.

Seaweed is full of good nutrients like calcium and iron, which are good to detox your body and get rid of waste and toxins.

Enough on the health benefits of this green leafy thing called seaweed.

How to eat it?

You can eat as a salad, one you will find the most in Asian restaurants.

Straight from the bags or sprinkle seaweed flakes on top of your food.

The options are many and I prefer mine in the salad form. You can also experiment and use the dried seaweed to make your own sushi!

Tip soak the seaweed of Emerald Cove just in hot water and you have your very own seaweed salad!

10. Kind Healthy Grains Granola Bars

Normally I always recommend to stay away from processed foods healthy granola bars included.

But this brand is one I would rather allow as it is gluten intolerant and good for those allergic to nuts.

I got mine on a domestic fight once and since then I always throw one in my bag if I know I will be away from home for at least 10 hours.

They are made of healthy ingredients and that’s always why they are kind of expensive.

Also, the reason why I don’t have them on a daily basis but rather have them once in a while. Check this pack below with 4 different kinds of flavors out below on Amazon!

11. Tuna on whole wheat crackers

If you have time and are at home, I recommend you to just use canned tuna and put a spoon on a wheat cracker and enjoy!

Fish is good for you because of the omega-3 it contains and all the other vitamins and minerals.

Even canned fish like tuna and sardines are healthy for you.

This is a good chance to spice up your diet and have some fun as well.

Weight loss should not be boring, rather have fun in the process and you will be enjoying doing it.
