Golden milk is all about its key ingredient: turmeric. It is known in the Asian culture and is exactly what give curry its yellow color.

It is used frequently in the Asian cuisine because it is rich in antioxidants.

So if you are not a fan of curry rice. Have golden milk instead!

It is used in the Eastern cultures as a traditional medicine against all kinds of issues: headache, sore throat, flu or cold.

We here in the Western world are familiar with drinking a cup of hot milk before sleeping.

Golden milk is made out of fresh turmeric or turmeric powder infused with warm milk.

You can have it anytime you want, but I prefer to have mine at the end of the day as it effects are quite relaxing.

How to make it?

Warm the milk up on your stove and add one teaspoon of turmeric powder.

Next add a bit of cinnamon powder and black pepper and let it zimmer for about 10 minutes.

The longer you leave it on a low heat, the stronger the taste is.

You can add a little piece of ginger and play with the amount of honey and cinnamon to get to the taste you prefer.

If you are lactose intolerant, try it out with almond milk or another variant.

Always consult with your doctor if you can have turmeric on a daily basis, especially for pregnant women.
