Apple Cider Vinegar Pills

Apple cider has been touted to aid weight loss, among other health benefits such as:

  • lowering blood pressure levels
  • regulating blood sugar levels
  • reducing cholesterol
  • detoxifying the body
  • aiding digestion
  • remedying heartburn
  • fighting infection
  • helping deal with cramps and pain
  • dealing with arthritis
  • clearing up acne
  • soothing sunburn
  • healing insect bites
  • preventing dandruff

But there’s one con to taking apple cider vinegar that even those who are already chugging it on the daily will admit:

It’s like drinking acid!

Honestly speaking, apple cider vinegar isn’t easy to drink, even with water and honey.

It probably wasn’t meant to be taken as a supplement anyway or if it was, the makers clearly flunked the palatability department.

If you’re one of the many people who really want to try apple cider vinegar but just can’t imagine downing even a teaspoonful, there’s good news for you!

Someone (or more like some company) finally came up with apple cider vinegar pills.

Apple Cider Vinegar Pills for Weight Loss

So What Are Apple cider Vinegar Pills?

Apple cider vinegar pills are basically supplements made with apple cider vinegar and some other substance/s in pill, capsule or tablet form.

These pills start out as apple cider vinegar which is made by crushing apples, extracting the juice and fermenting it.

The fermentation process brings about good bacteria that are mainly responsible for all the health benefits apple cider vinegar has been known for.

It is then dehydrated and transformed into apple cider vinegar pills.

Just a note:

Not all apple cider vinegar pills are created equal.

That is, some apple cider vinegar pills may contain other ingredients.

For example, other makers mix in cayenne pepper, supposedly an appetite suppressant, and market their apple cider vinegar pills as a weight loss tool.

Some add ingredients that help aid digestion such as aloe vera, selling their brand of apple cider vinegar pills as the detoxifying, cleansing kind.

And believe it or not, some companies don’t bother listing down the ingredients at all!

It is kind of horrifying when you think about it: drinking apple cider vinegar pills without knowing what they’re made of.

But then again, these are dietary supplements and the Food and Drug Administration is not authorized to review them for safety and effectiveness.

Different apple cider vinegar pills also have varying dosage recommendations. It usually depends on how much apple cider vinegar you get with every pill.

More or less, 1500 mg is the average daily dose that most apple cider vinegar pills manufacturers recommend on the label.

Apple Cider Vinegar vs. Apple Cider Vinegar Pills (pros and cons)

Now that you know what apple cider vinegar pills are, including what they’re made of, you might think…

Are apple cider vinegar pills better than the OG?

The short answer is:

Not really.

Although apple cider vinegar pills were made so you won’t have to deal with the liquid form’s awfully sour taste, it doesn’t mean it’s free from cons:

I really like and always prefer the Apple Cider Vinegar of Bragg's it is one of the most popular brands out there, click below to see it on Amazon:

First, most (if not all) apple cider vinegar pills are adulterated.

That means you don’t get 100% pure apple cider vinegar but a mixture of ACV and other ingredients, listed or not.

You don’t really have to worry if the pill is made by a reputable brand or company.

I mean, surely they’re adding safe and beneficial ingredients, right?

It’s the shady brands offering little to no information about ingredients, companies and dosage that ring the alarm.

Always err on the side of caution and when in doubt, don’t drink apple cider vinegar pills or any dietary supplement with unknown origin.

Second, it can be very easy to overdo apple cider vinegar pills.

It takes a lot of courage to down apple cider vinegar even when it’s mixed with water and sweetened with honey.

But apple cider vinegar pills are a whole different story.

It’s so much easier to take the pills without the extraordinarily sour taste and slight burning sensation down your throat.

That’s exactly why others may be tempted to drink more pills and thus more apple cider vinegar than they would in liquid form.

And as we all know, too much of anything is bad for you.

And this may come as a surprise but apple cider vinegar pills can still burn your throat.

There was once a case of a woman who couldn’t swallow anything for days after the apple cider vinegar pills she was regularly taking got stuck in her throat.

Needless to say, the highly acidic pill can cause damage to your throat or the digestive track in the unfortunate instance that it gets stuck.

Although apple cider vinegar pills do come with cons, there are also good thing about this popular weight loss supplement:

Unlike the liquid form, apple cider vinegar pills don’t require any form of preparation.

Simply pop the pills in your mouth and wash them down with water.

Apple cider vinegar is often taken by the spoonful by the brave of heart or mixed with water and some honey by others.

But apple cider vinegar pills don’t need any of that!

You can also take apple cider vinegar pills anywhere and anytime!

It doesn’t matter if you’re at work, at home or on vacation.

Apple cider vinegar pills are small enough to pack into your bag and take with you anywhere.

And probably the best part of taking apple cider vinegar pills instead of the liquid form – no more horrid taste and smell!

You don’t have to worry about offending your workmates with the overwhelming odor that somehow always manages to stink up the whole room.

You can now get your daily dose of apple cider vinegar in peace!

Are apple cider vinegar pills good for you?

Apple cider vinegar pills are not only convenient and so much easier to take.

If you find good quality ones, you may just reap all the health benefits of apple cider vinegar!

Technically speaking, there’s not much study done on apple cider vinegar pills to examine its effects on the human body.

However, there are already a handful of studies showing the amazing health benefits apple cider vinegar offer:

It aids weight management.

Probably one of the most wonderful side effects of taking apple cider vinegar (and probably apple cider vinegar pills) is weight loss.

A study found that rats have so much better metabolism after being exposed to acetic acid, the active component in apple cider vinegar pills.

It turns out that the acid boosted fat burning while slowing down the liver’s sugar and fat production.

Acetic acid may also promote fat burning on the genetic level, making it less likely for you to have fat buildup and experience weight gain, as shown in a study involving mice.

I’m not kidding! Apple cider vinegar pills can help prevent you from gaining more weight through acetic acid’s ability to suppress your appetite.

It does this by influencing the part of your brain that controls your appetite.

It lowers blood sugar levels.

A rat study suggests that apple cider vinegar can dramatically decrease insulin levels.

And as I expected, us humans have more or less the same response.

Apple cider vinegar cut blood sugar by 1/3 after eating white bread, according to one study.

Another study revealed that simply taking 2 tablespoons of apple cider vinegar before you hit the sack decreases fasting blood sugar by 4% the morning after.

So what does that mean? If ACV can do that, I have no doubt that apple cider vinegar pills can give you the same effect, making it a helpful tool for persons struggling with diabetes or if you’re pre-diabetic and want to keep your blood sugar under control.

Of course, if you’re taking any medication, you might want to consult your health professional before taking apple cider vinegar pills on a daily basis.

It cuts cancer risk.

Apple cider vinegar may just lower cancer risk or at least that’s what studies say.

A study shows that taking ACV cut esophageal cancer risk of people from China.

And what another study reveals is even more interesting:

Acetic acid, found in apple cider vinegar, effectively killed cancer cells in lab.

While that doesn’t necessarily mean that apple cider vinegar pills will cure human cancer, the healing potential cannot be denied.

The authors of the study suggest that acetic acid could be used to target cancerous tumors, along with chemotherapy treatment and others. The ones I prefer when I am travelling is of the brand Integrals and are organic as well. Click below to get yours:

It regulates blood pressure levels.

Did you know that over 75 million people have to deal with high blood pressure?

And not even half of them successfully keep it at normal levels! In fact, about 400,000 deaths (and counting) are high blood pressure-related.

This is exactly why it is very important for those who have high blood pressure to get the right medication and dosage, as prescribed by a doctor.

But I know of others who took it a bit farther by taking apple cider vinegar pills to help keep their blood pressure in check.

And guess what? Science seems to be backing it up:

  • One study showed lower renin activity in rats with high blood pressure after being given vinegar. Renin is a protein enzyme that is made by your kidneys. Together with aldoesterone, a hormone made by your adrenal glands, it affects your blood pressure. The study concluded that blood pressure decreases with decreased renin activity.
  • Apple cider vinegar can help you lose pounds and take a few digits off your blood pressure monitor. Because blood pressure tends to go up the heavier you get, even the slightest but significant weight loss can have drastic effects on your blood pressure levels. That said, apple cider vinegar pills somehow help lower your blood pressure indirectly.
  • It’s been found that Metformin, a prescription medication used to lower blood glucose levels among diabetic patients, successfully lowered blood pressure as well. Since apple cider vinegar lowered glucose levels among rats in a separate study, some are hypothesizing that ACV could be used to normalize blood pressure as well.

It may help prevent and fight infection.

This health tonic has been in use for a very long time.

They say Hippocrates, the father of medicine, turned to vinegar to clean and treat wounds back in the day, with the belief that it’ll help keep infection at bay.

But is there any truth to this?

Well, apple cider vinegar may not work on all types of infection, whether ingested or via topical use.

However, ACV is a legit antifungal, with lab research suggesting that it can inhibit the growth of candida, a group of yeasts commonly linked to fungal infection. It is promising, honestly.

But you should also consider the fact that it’s only been proven to work on yeasts in a petri dish and not yet in humans.

It is rich in antioxidants.

ACV, just like other types of vinegar, contain polyphenols, antioxidants that help stop cell damage.

These plant-based antioxidants can give you a wealth of health benefits including:

  • Lowered risk for type 2 diabetes
  • Decreased levels of inflammation
  • Lesser risk for heart disease
  • Weight regulation

Apple Cider Vinegar Pills: The Bottom Line

Taking into account all of the above, I can say that apple cider vinegar pills are relatively safe and even beneficial if taken in moderation.

And by that I mean you should follow the suggested daily dose on the label.

You’ll never know… the right dose of ACV could positively impact your weight loss journey.

Just a word of caution for the pregnant, breastfeeding and on medication out there:

Always consult a health professional before taking any other dietary supplement… apple cider vinegar pills or not.

And never use apple cider vinegar pills in lieu of prescription medicine.

Apple cider vinegar pills work wonders as a dietary supplement but these tablets are not designed to cure. Looking for a proven system to lose weight fast? Check out my own weight loss program below!
