6 Low Carb Diet Weight Loss Tips

It is good to try different things out when you want to lose weight.

I absolutely recommend it to figure it out what works for you.

In this post I will share with you some tips when you are on a low-carb diet or want to start with one.

These best practices helped me a lot in losing my extra weight and it will increase your chances of succeeding with your low-carb diet.

Be aware that when you start with a low carb diet, you might encounter some minor headaches and irritation issues.

This is because your body needs to adapt to the lower intake of less carbs and has a hard time adjusting to it.

1. Listen to your stomach

Boredom eating is a serious problem that many people are just not aware of it.

We just keep on eating and eating. 

We almost feel as if we are forced to eat breakfast and then have lunch with out colleagues.

This is one of the causes of slowly gaining that dangerous weight.

To eat when we are not really hungry.

We should be more aware of ourselves and listen to our body.

For instance, start only with eating until you feel hungry. Don’t go and eat just because the clock tells you it is 12:00.

But what you can do is eat nothing until noon so you will be hungry for sure around that time.

Do this and you will give your body enough time to burn the excess of energy that is stored as fat.

This is one of the most efficient ways to break fat down.

2. Eat Whole Foods

Change your diet a bit and start experimenting and discover what works for you.

And more importantly discover what does NOT work for you. Start with eating whole foods only.

This is almost any food that is not processed and comes without a label.

The reason for this is that a lot of food that you are currently putting into your body is full of salt, sodium and artificial sweeteners. 

Not only does this disrupt the digestion inside your body, it also makes you gain that extra weight (fast).

Think of fruits, nuts, vegetables, meat and fish.

The options are many and you can be as creative as you want. 

The good part is that these foods only contain good fats and lots of protein.

It is hard to overeat on protein but if you do then it isn’t that harmful to your body.

3. Take a Time-Out

Take it easy when you are on a low-carb diet.

Take a chill pill. Instead of that high super intense cardio workout, go for a relaxing walk with your best friend or husband.

Just relax and give some form of physical activity to your body.

Actually, high and intense cardio workouts are really bad when you are doing a low-carb diet.

 It is true that it is good for burning fat and increasing that metabolism.

However, you are on a low energy level due to the reduced carb intake. 

So when you go all 'Rocky' mode then you will force your body to deplete its resources. As a result, it needs to recover fast and for that it needs food.

Those type of exercises will let you have more cravings and eat more.

So all your hard efforts will be for nothing if you find yourself in an eating binge mode after your gym session.

So word of advice.

Take it slow and find something relaxing that you can do.

Whether that is swimming, biking, hiking or just playing around with the kids.

Find something that is relaxing for you and something that you can do every day.

4. Load Up on Veggies

You need to get some fiber into your body when you are doing this.

So eat lots of veggies. 

Eat at least half of a plate of them when you have dinner.

The green stuff is full of good nutrients and antioxidants that are good to cleanse your body. 

This will remove the excess of waste from your body. Ultimately this will help you a lot in losing weight as your body will work better.

5. Monitor Progress

Never trust the mirror. It is going to be very easy to lose your motivation when you keep track of yourself via the mirror.

You see yourself everyday, so the small changes will go unnoticed.

And there will also be days that you will be gaining weight and one day losing it all.

So don’t use the weighing scale as a reliable tool that you can use every hour to keep track of yourself.

Take some measuring tape and start measuring your waist and all the other areas you want to burn that fat.

Write it down, and keep track of yourself every week or so. This is way more reliable and your self-esteem will grow way better.

6. You Are Cheating Too Much

The reason why you are not seeing results is because you are cheating.

You are having two or more cheat days in a week. 

This is not good for your diet. 

You can absolutely have a cheat day on a certain day every week

But two or more will disrupt the internal processes and all your hard work will be for nothing.

It is good to have a cheat day and eat all the forbidden food that you desired for all the week. 

I suggest to eat as much as you can so that it will make you a bit nauseas. In this way you will not even think for a minute about another hamburger or chips for the upcoming days.
